In celebrating one of its legendary riders with a new shoe release just earlier this week, Vans was careful not to leave its new blood neglected. Long lusted by the messageboard faithful, Vans has finally released Gilbert Crockett’s first signature shoe. While a certain Australian peer was said to draw influence from similar models, the Richmond native’s Crockett Pro seems a more faithful combination of the iconic Era and Old Skool silhouettes. The sleek shoe promises boardfeel at first sight of its slender outsole, matched with a one-piece suede toecap for increased durability. On the interior, Vans cleverly molded mesh heel pockets into the rear panel – locking feet into place while avoiding excess bulk. Features such as Vans’ UltraCush HD insert and the hallmark ‘waffle’ sole finish off this shoe, available now on Vans’ web store for a reasonable $70 USD. Further, be on the lookout for shipments arriving to your local skate shop in the coming weeks.
