Nintendo Unveils the 2DS Handheld

Share

The story of Nintendo ‘s 2DS handheld begins today,
yet its legacy traces back all the way to 1989. As the
ambassador of mobile gaming to pop culture, Nintendo
has since expanded the original Game Boy platform
into a new handheld generation, the 3DS, and
presently announces the newest member to the family
– the Nintendo 2DS . The 2DS is a triumphant, albeit
small gadget, bearing a strong likeness to its
counterpart, the 3DS. It can play all 3DS and regular
Nintendo DS games, has access to Nintendo 3DS apps
(i.e. Nintendo e-Shop), and features dual screens; two
cameras; a single speaker, and a 4GB SD card. The
tradeoff, however, is that Nintendo 2DS users can only
play games in two dimensions. At the same time, the $
129 (USD) price tag makes the 2DS a more feasible,
considerable alternative to parents of smaller children.
For the official release from the brand, enjoy the video
below, then look for Nintendo’s 2DS to hit stores on
October 12.
